Connect your JetClock

How to connect your clock to WiFi and register it

Connect and Register your JetClock

Once you've built your clock, follow these steps to connect it to WiFi and register it to the JetClock network.

1
Power On Your Clock

Plug your clock into a USB socket, then wait for the power to come on. After a few seconds you will see the JetClock logo.

💡

The backlight of the clock should come on immediately. If this doesn't happen, make sure that you followed the assembly instructions and the clock is plugged in.

2
Connect to Hotspot

When the clock first loads it will go into hotspot mode. It creates a network called "JetClock". Connect to this network on your laptop or smartphone.

You will see this screen when the clock is in hotspot mode

3
Access Setup Page

Once connected to the JetClock network, open a browser and navigate to:

http://jetclock.local
💡

If the captive portal opens automatically, you can use it for basic setup. However, for full functionality (like removing saved networks), navigate directly to jetclock.local in your browser.

4
Select WiFi Network

On the jetclock.local webpage, select your WiFi network. It must be a 2.4GHz network. Then type your password and connect.

⚠️

JetClock only supports 2.4GHz WiFi networks. 5GHz networks are not supported. If your router broadcasts both frequencies, make sure you select the 2.4GHz network (often shown with "2.4G" or "2.4GHz" in the name).

5
Wait for Connection

The clock will attempt to connect to your WiFi network.

The clock will show a connection progress screen

You can then close jetclock.local.

6
Check Connection Status

If the connection is successful, it will show a success screen. If it fails, it will show an error screen.

💡

If the connection fails, the hotspot will be created again. Simply repeat the process from step 2.

7
Clock Reboots

If the connection is successful, the clock will reboot.

8
Scan QR Code

On reboot, a QR code will be shown. Scan this QR code and follow the prompts.

9
Create or Sign In to Account

The QR code will take you to our registration page. You'll need to either:

  • Create a new account if you don't have one
  • Sign in to your existing account
10
Enter Purchase Email

During registration, you'll be asked to enter the email address or post/zip code you used when purchasing your JetClock. This helps us verify your purchase and link the device to your account.

⚠️

The purchase email or post/zipcode must match the email address used during your JetClock purchase. If you're unsure, check your purchase confirmation email.

11
Complete Registration

After entering your purchase email, click "Register Clock" to complete the registration process. You should see a success message confirming the registration.

12
Set Up Location

After successful registration, you'll be prompted to set your location and the direction your clock is facing. This information is essential for accurate aircraft detection.

Manual Registration

We don't recommend it, but if you need to manually register your clock because you can't scan the QR code, go to app.jetclock.io/register and type in the ID below the QR code (this is your clock ID).

Common Issues

"Purchase email not found" error

Double-check that you're using the exact email address from your purchase confirmation. If you're still having issues, contact support with your order details.

Ensure your JetClock is powered on and displaying the QR code. Try refreshing the page or using a different QR code scanner app.

Registration page not loading

Check your internet connection and try accessing the registration page directly at jetclock.com/register.

WiFi connection issues

Make sure you're connecting to a 2.4GHz network. 5GHz networks are not supported by JetClock.
