Introduction

JetClock, a trading name of OR Innovation Limited, is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and safeguard your information when you use JetClock products and services including JetClock Desk, JetClock Zero and JetClock Air.

Data We Collect

Account and device data

When you set up a JetClock device or purchase JetClock Air we collect:

  • Your email address
  • Device identifier
  • Device location (latitude and longitude) for aircraft detection
  • Configuration preferences including clock style, slot selections, display settings and filters
  • Purchase information

Aircraft detection data

To provide the aircraft detection service JetClock processes:

  • Your device location to identify aircraft in your vicinity
  • Aircraft transponder data (ADS-B) for flights in your area
  • Timestamps of aircraft detections

Logbook data

If you use the JetClock logbook feature, we collect and store:

  • A record of every aircraft detected overhead your location including date, time, aircraft type, registration, airline, route, altitude and operator
  • Rarity scores and sighting statistics derived from your detection history
  • Your personal sighting records including first sightings and frequency data

This data is stored against your device identifier and builds over time to create your personal aircraft sighting history. It is stored on our servers for as long as your account is active.

You can request deletion of your logbook data at any time by contacting us at [email protected]. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Usage and diagnostic data

We collect anonymised usage analytics and device diagnostics to improve JetClock performance and reliability. This data cannot be used to identify you individually.

How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect to:

  • Provide real-time aircraft detection based on your location
  • Build and maintain your personal aircraft sighting logbook
  • Calculate aircraft rarity scores based on aggregated sighting data across the JetClock fleet
  • Sync your configuration preferences across devices
  • Provide technical support
  • Improve JetClock products and services using aggregated and anonymised data
  • Send service updates and important notices

Rarity Scores and Aggregated Data

JetClock calculates aircraft rarity scores by analysing aggregated and anonymised sighting data across all JetClock devices. Individual user data is not shared. Your location is never associated with another user's data. Rarity scores reflect how commonly an aircraft has been seen across the fleet as a whole not by individual users.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

We may share data with:

  • Third party data providers who supply aircraft information, weather data, moon and sky data and ISS tracking data. These providers receive only the minimum data necessary to provide their services.
  • Legal authorities where required by law.

We do not share your logbook data, location or sighting history with any third party for marketing or commercial purposes.

Data Retention

  • Configuration and account data is retained for as long as your account is active.
  • Logbook data is retained indefinitely to maintain your personal sighting history. You may request deletion at any time.
  • Anonymised analytics data may be retained indefinitely for product improvement purposes.
  • If you request account deletion all personal data including your logbook will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. Aircraft detection data is transmitted securely. Your location is used only for the purpose of detecting aircraft overhead and is not used for any other purpose.

Your Rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate personal data
  • Request deletion of your personal data including your logbook
  • Request a copy of your data in a portable format
  • Object to processing of your data
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

Children's Privacy

JetClock products are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any material changes will be communicated via email and posted on our website. Continued use of JetClock products following notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of England and Wales and complies with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
