Track your aircraft detection history and discover rare sightings
Understanding Your JetClock Logbook
The Logbook feature tracks every aircraft your JetClock detects, building a personal aviation spotting history. View statistics, discover rare aircraft, and analyse patterns in your local air traffic.
Getting Started
Accessing Your Logbook
Navigate to the Logbook section in your JetClock web app. Your logbook automatically records every aircraft detection with no setup required.
đŸ’¡
Your logbook starts collecting data from the moment you set up your JetClock. Historical data builds over time to create richer statistics.
Time Range Filters
Understanding Time Periods
Choose from preset time ranges or create custom date ranges to analyse your detections:
Last Hour: Rolling 60-minute window showing real-time activity
Today: From midnight in your timezone to the current moment
Yesterday: Complete 24-hour period of the previous day
Last 7 Days: Seven complete days (excluding today and yesterday for consistent data)
Last 30 Days: Thirty complete days (excluding today and yesterday)
Last Year: 365 complete days (excluding today and yesterday)
Custom Range: Select any start and end date
đŸ’¡
Some ranges exclude today and yesterday because rarity scores are calculated 48 hours after detection. This ensures all aircraft in your results have accurate rarity ratings.
Key Metrics Explained
Aircraft Counts
Your logbook tracks two important numbers:
Unique Aircraft: The number of distinct aircraft detected (counted once per aircraft)
Example: If you see the same British Airways A380 five times, it counts as 1 unique aircraft
Total Detections: The total number of times any aircraft was detected
Example: That same A380 seen five times counts as 5 total detections
Sorting Your Detections
View your aircraft using different sorting methods:
Rarest First: Orders aircraft by rarity score (0-100 scale)
Most Recent: Shows your latest detections first
Most Frequent: Displays aircraft you've seen most often
Understanding Aircraft Metrics
Individual Aircraft Details
Each detected aircraft shows several metrics:
Rarity Score (0-100)
Based on global JetClock network data
Higher scores = rarer aircraft
Updates daily based on all JetClock detections worldwide
Your Sightings (range)
Times you've detected this aircraft in your selected time period
Helps identify regular visitors
Your Sightings (all time)
Total times you've ever detected this specific aircraft
Shows your complete history with this aircraft
Your First Sighting
The earliest date your JetClock detected this aircraft
Track how long you've been spotting specific aircraft
Routes
Number of unique origin→destination pairs this aircraft has flown
Shows up to 10 most recent routes
Route Information
How Routes Work
Routes show where aircraft are traveling from and to:
Routes come from filed flight plans when available
