Having trouble with aircraft detection? This guide will help you resolve issues with aircraft detection and notifications.
Verify that your JetClock's location is set correctly. Go to your clock's settings page and check the latitude and longitude coordinates.
Use the "Auto Fill location" feature to automatically detect your current location, or enter coordinates manually if needed.
Ensure the clock direction is set correctly (0-360 degrees). This determines which direction the clock will detect aircraft from.
The direction setting is crucial for accurate aircraft detection. An incorrect direction will cause the clock to look in the wrong area.
Make sure your location is accurate to within a few hundred meters. Small location errors can significantly affect detection range.
Review your notification distance setting (1-50 km). A smaller distance will show more local aircraft, while a larger distance will show aircraft further away.
Start with a distance of 5-10 km and adjust based on your location and preferences.
JetClock detects aircraft within your specified notification distance. Aircraft outside this range won't trigger notifications.
If you're in a remote area with limited air traffic, you may see fewer aircraft. Urban areas and near airports typically have more activity.
Ensure your JetClock has a stable internet connection. Aircraft data is fetched from external sources, so connectivity is essential.
Check that your clock shows as "Online" in your dashboard.
A weak WiFi signal can cause intermittent connection issues. Try moving your clock closer to the router or improving WiFi coverage.
If detection issues persist, try restarting your JetClock by unplugging and reconnecting the power.
Aircraft detection depends on data from external sources. Some areas may have limited coverage or temporary outages.
Aircraft detection works best in areas with good ADS-B coverage, typically near airports and populated areas.
Not all aircraft transmit position data. Military aircraft, some private planes, and aircraft without ADS-B transponders may not be detected.
If you suddenly stop seeing aircraft, there may be a temporary service outage. Check our system status page for updates.
Ensure your clock is displaying the time correctly. If the display is showing errors or not updating, aircraft detection may be affected.
Check that notifications are enabled in your clock's settings. You can adjust the notification distance and other preferences.
Try adjusting your notification distance to a very small value (1-2 km) to test if notifications are working with nearby aircraft.
